Funky Fur endeavours to make the experience of every dog that enters our salon as comfortable and stress free as possible. Our one on one appointments allow us to give each dog the individual time and attention they need. For this to occur we have policies in place.

Arrival & Drop-Off
- Text on Arrival and pick up: Please text or call when you arrive and wait until we confirm the drop-off area is clear. This prevents dogs from crossing paths and helps keep the salon calm.
- If you are feeling unwell with flu-like symptoms, please postpone your appointment and contact us to rebook.
Before Your Appointment
- Please toilet your dog before arrival — ideally after a decent walk — to help them relax and stay comfortable during grooming.
- All dogs must be on a lead when entering or leaving the property.
- Close all gates securely behind you as you enter and leave. Even if your dog isn’t a runner, another dog may be. This is critical for everyone’s safety.
- If your dog toilets on or outside the property, please clean it up or tell us so we can. Poop bags are available on request.
- We groom a limited number of dogs each day to give each one quality time and care.
- Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a fee of 50% of the appointment cost.
- Same-day cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full appointment cost.
- If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may be cancelled or rescheduled, and the relevant cancellation fee will apply.
Pricing
- All prices are estimates and may change based on coat condition, fleas, behaviour, or other factors only visible once grooming begins.
Pick-Ups
- Dogs must be collected promptly — within 30 minutes of us notifying you their groom is finished — unless pre-arranged at the time of booking.
- A $5 per pet fee applies for every 30 minutes after the collection window.
- As a home salon, we must respect council regulations and neighbour noise limits, so timely pick-ups are essential.
- If fleas are found during grooming, we will carry out a flea bath and an automatic $15 flea service will be added to your bill.
- For best results, we recommend a monthly flea prevention treatment and washing your dog’s bedding before their groom. A flea bath only kills adult fleas — it will not remove eggs or fleas in bedding or the home.
Contagious Conditions & Unwell Dogs
- Please do not bring your dog if they have any contagious condition, including skin disease, fungus, worms, coughs, diarrhoea, or any illness.
- Dogs who are unwell often feel stressed and uncomfortable during grooming, so postponing their appointment is better for their wellbeing and for the safety of other dogs.
- If a condition is discovered during grooming, you will be asked to collect your dog immediately. You will be charged for the portion of grooming completed plus a clean-up fee.
Payment
- Payment is due at pick-up by cash or EFTPOS.
